We are BAP and GLOBALG.A.P certified.

BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) is one of the most comprehensive and best-known certification systems for ensuring the sustainability of aquaculture products.

BAP operates according to its four ‘Pillars of Responsible Aquaculture’: food safety, social welfare, environmental and animal health.

All our farming sites, our processing plant and our fresh water facility have been awarded BAP accreditation stars. Our feed suppliers, Skretting and Havsbrún, are also BAP certified. This means we have a four-star BAP certification, which is the most stars one can have.

GlobalG.A.P. is the worldwide quality assurance standard for good agricultural practices, which covers criteria for the environment and ecology, animal welfare, food safety, and staff health and safety. The standard serves as a credible third-party verification to confirm that our business operations are both sustainable and safe, and that our salmon is farmed responsibly in ecologically sound conditions.

GLOBALG.A.P. covers the entire production chain – from the feed manufacturer to the hatchery, nursery, and grow-out, including transportation, harvest and post-harvest activities.
