BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) is one of the most comprehensive and best-known certification systems for ensuring the sustainability of aquaculture products.
BAP operates according to its four ‘Pillars of Responsible Aquaculture’: food safety, social welfare, environmental and animal health.
All our farming sites and our processing plant have been awarded BAP accreditation stars. Our feed suppliers, Skretting and Havsbrún, are also BAP certified. This means we currently have a three-star BAP certification. We are working on having our hatchery fully approved. We expect this to happen in the near future, at which point we will then have a four-star BAP accreditation.
